Job DescriptionHealth and Safety Assurance Manager Are you looking to progress your career by working on Britain’s biggest construction project? Balfour Beatty VINCI is working with a range of organisations to design and build 90km West Midlands stretch of HS2 - Britain’s new high speed railway. Our work is essential to enable HS2 trains to travel between London and Birmingham as well as continue their journey up to Manchester. It’s an incredibly exciting time to join us - we’re at peak construction with work really ramping up on a broad range of assets including bridges, tunnels and viaducts. Plus you’d join 9,000 people across 72 working on this exciting section of HS2 across the region. We currently have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Health and Safety Assurance Manager within the Safety Function. This role will be based on site in Water Orton, The project’s most complex network of structures in the West Midlands, this sublot includes the Delta Junction – a triangular section of the high-speed railway made up of nine precast segmental viaducts, embankments, and other bridging structures, with around 10km of track crossing a network of motorways, roads and rivers.
The purpose of this role is to manage the Health & Safety assurance function working in Sublot 5N and 6, (known as: Delta), establishing and maintaining the highest Health and Safety standards for the project.
Management and assurance in relation to H&S resilience, audits, inspections, and performance reporting.
Lead the investigation of accidents, incidents and near miss events in accordance with BBV standards to identify and share lessons learned.
Development and implementation of new requirements, innovation, initiatives, campaigns, briefings to support the highest Health and Safety standards for the project.
The role has direct reports of H&S practitioners and H&S Administrators Experienced required
Corporate Member of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health, or actively working towards this membership level.
Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health Construction Diploma / NVQ equivalent

We started working together over 30 years ago to deliver the Channel Tunnel, as members of the TransManche Link consortium.
