Senior HV Plant Engineer
The Senior HV Plant Engineer will work on a hybrid basis within the Power Networks team, based out of Glasgow, Birmingham, Epsom or Leeds.
The Role Will InvolveProviding Leadership on the FEED and detail design workstream.
Acting as BP141/equivalent assurance engineer where required.
Reviewing the HV plant aspects of different projects including HV layouts, earthing design and reports, mechanical interlocking, HV busbar calculations and technical specification for the HV plant equipment.
Coordination with back-office engineers, subcontractors and suppliers.
Attending and chairing design review and Hazard review meetings and reviewing HV plant design packages as required.
Attending site visits, FAT and SAT as required.
To be considered for this role, applicants will need to be qualified to degree level or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, with relevant experience of leading teams in the delivery of Front-End Engineering and design or Detailed design of EHV (132kV upwards) substation projects. You will have a strong understanding and leadership of engineering projects throughout the lifecycle, as well as experience of working for a client organisation such as transmission system owner/operator, distribution network operator or a power design consultancy.
The Following Would Be DesirableChartered Engineer status through the IET.
BP141 or equivalent authorised or ability to gain this.
In addition to your technical skills and experience, you will possess:
Strong attention to detail ensuring high quality delivery of FEED and detailed design deliverables.
A strong awareness of deadlines, able to deal with competing priorities and manage time appropriately.
Strong relationship skills, able to work with clients at their offices or company offices, able to interface with clients, understand their needs and convert opportunities into successful workstreams.
