We're committed to bringing passion and customer focus to the businessGeneral SummaryProvide the leadership and supervision for a crew of approximately 6-10 craft with the mission of preparing work, monitoring work in the field, solving problems to ensure completion, and monitoring individual and crew performance. Responsible for communicating and coordinating activities with various work groups (e.g., Operations and Maintenance) to ensure timely work completion, communicating with plant management to provide status, providing oversight of assigned outage activities, and ensuring work activities are accomplished in a safe manner in conformance to license requirements.
Principal AccountabilitiesManage work activities of maintenance craft through planning, leading, and monitoring to ensure that work is executed in an efficient and safe manner. This includes all aspects of physical plant work including work package preparation, parts procurement, ALARA briefings, clearance order walk downs, work prioritizing, resource loading, and work execution including resolution of schedule delays and conflicts.
Prepare for scheduled and emergent work. This is accomplished through interface with planning personnel, evaluating adequacy of work instructions by paper review and physical plant walk downs, resource loading work in accordance with available manpower and qualifications, reviewing schedules for adverse impacts such as availability of test equipment and part, and staging the job site to ensure timeliness of work completion.
Implement work efficiently and effectively. This is accomplished through pre- and post-job briefs, supervising work in progress, providing coaching and feedback on individual and crew performance, and monitoring work to ensure it is conducted in accordance with procedures and management expectations. These expectations include good ALARA performance, nuclear and personnel safety, the use of proper communication and performance techniques, error free quality work, and adherence to procedures. This is measured through a routine of observing and assessing work sites to assure that problems and coordination issues are being resolved in the field in a timely manner to maximize work crew field time on the job.
Review of work documentation prior to the close out of work packages to ensure accuracy and completeness and that the work objectives have been met.
Take action as appropriate to continuously improve work process efficiencies. Specific accountabilities with measurable performance indicators include human performance, work order backlog relative to assigned systems, daily and weekly schedule effectiveness, preventative maintenance backlog, maintenance productivity, dose associated with work activities, and surveillance procedure completion.
Emergency Response Organization support as required and collateral duties as well.
Required Education & ExperienceBachelor’s degree in a related field plus a minimum of 6 years of experience in maintenance or a related field (ie. Engineering, Utility, Manufacturing).
Or an Associate’s degree in a related field plus a minimum of 8 years of experience in maintenance or a related field (ie. Engineering, Utility, Manufacturing).
Or a High School Diploma or GED and technical training or education similar to that acquired through an in-grade apprenticeship program plus a minimum of 8 years of experience in maintenance or related field (ie. Engineering, Utility, Manufacturing).
Or experience as a qualified craft supervisor at CGS or another nuclear utility plus a minimum of 4 years in that role.
Experience must also include demonstrated leadership and planning capabilities as would normally be obtained in a lead of shop engineer role or similar job function. Must be capable of completing or have completed Phase 1 of the Maintenance Supervisor Training Program.
This position is open until filled.Pay Range$108,279.00 - $162,419.00 Annual
Midpoint$135,349.00
Typically, selected candidates are hired between the minimum and midpoint of the range, based on applicable experience and qualifications, market rate, internal equity, and budgetary allowances.
Incentive CompensationOffers will be negotiated based on each candidate's qualifications.
This role may be eligible to participate in our annual incentive plan. Incentives are earned based on employee performance against defined metrics and company goals.
