Energy Northwest is Hiring a Public Affairs Intern - Year-Round Near Richland, WA

We're committed to bringing passion and customer focus to the business.General SummaryProvide entry-level administrative and/or technical support of the programs and functional areas within our Public Affairs department as needed: employee communication, creative design, advertising & educational marketing, public relations and governing boards management. Examples of responsibilities include social media writing, website support, sign shop work, EN News features and publication, tour support, and board expense reports among other duties as assigned.
This is a temporary, year-round position in our Public Affairs Department and is expected to last up to one year. This is an on-site position. Hours are approximately 20 hours per week and are flexible (we will work around the student's class schedule).
Hourly pay rate varies according to degree status level.
Principal AccountabilitiesSupport assigned routine department activities
Support technical project-related activities within the department
Support emergent related work or assignments
Required EducationRequires current part to full time enrollment status in a bachelor’s or graduate degree program in an administrative field related to the assigned role at an accredited college or university. Target hire designation is determined by the expected knowledge level needed for the job duties assigned to each internship and by the expected status level of the student when the internship commences (Senior, Junior, etc). Must maintain a minimum 2.8 cumulative G.P.A. unless approved by Human Resources. The selected candidate will be expected to be available to work onsite at the designated work location on a year-round basis if business needs warrant it. High School Diploma or GED required.
Preference is given to students majoring in Communications, Public Relations, Graphic Design, or related discipline. Strong writing ability, graphic design or communications is a plus.
Hourly RateJunior: $23.50/hour
Senior: $25.50/hour
BenefitsPay Range:Temporary employees may be required to participate in the Washington State Pension Plan (PERS) and may also be eligible to enroll in medical insurance if the duration and hours worked requirements are met. Temporary employees accrue paid time off that is available to use after 90 days of employment.
