Energy Systems Group is Hiring a Lighting Project Manager Near Newburgh, IN

ENERGY SYSTEMS GROUP is looking for a Lighting Project Manager to join our Lighting Team. The position will be virtual. Frequent travel of 50% to 75%, including overnight stays and weekend travel dependent on project(s) location is required.

The Lighting Project Manager coordinates all aspects of project execution of the Lighting scope of work, ensuring a smooth transition from the design phase to the installation and on-going service and support phase of the completed project. This includes, but is not limited to: advising and assisting the Lighting Engineer in estimating and managing the account, conferring with engineering personnel on technical information, procuring and managing outside contractors, scheduling project phases and training customers' maintenance personnel. The Lighting Project Manager acts as primary point of contact for all internal personnel, external contractors, subcontractors and customer agents to coordinate all aspects of project installation. The individual ensures that projects are completed on time, within budget and that customers are satisfied with both the installation process and the end result.

The Lighting Project Manager must be able to communicate effectively with the customer. The Lighting Project Manager must have a working knowledge of lighting systems, the scope of work, and be able to trouble shoot lighting issues and report to the Lighting Engineer. The Lighting Project Manager will be the point person on site during installation and will be responsible for all the day-to-day operations in the field.

The essential functions of the position include:

  • Coordinates with Lighting Engineer to ensure that prompt and accurate estimates and pricing are achieved and consistent with project goals
  • Schedules and coordinates all work performed and to ensure clear and consistent communication about the project's progress, costs and training
  • Assists Lighting Engineers in obtaining quotes from outside material suppliers and subcontractors, assist in choosing appropriate contractors and vendors for each project, issues contracts, schedules and manages all contractor and subcontractor work and ensures on time arrival of all project equipment and supplies
  • Coordinates with Management, Finance and Accounting support groups to ensure project is on track and cost objectives are met
  • Acknowledges and Signs quarterly Project Deliver Affidavits which list documents and records used to recognize revenue and customer billings
  • Reviews Project Metrics report with Project Accountant that contains contract value, percent of completion, billings, contingency and margin; flags on report that generate action items include under billings by more than 5% and margin deviation by greater than 3%
  • Monitors labor, materials, project modifications and work completion and makes changes as necessary to ensure achievement of project objectives within cost and time constraints
  • Oversees all aspects of installation, working with all parties involved to proactively prevent and solve quality issues and other problems that may arise in the course of the project
  • Create and maintain an efficient, effective project work force, providing training and supervision for each member assigned to the project and coordinating team member activities to meet project objectives
  • Responsible for ensuring adherence to all OSHA, Federal, State and safety regulations as well as all company policies and procedures
  • Keeps abreast of all changes in federal, state and local safety regulations and company policies as they pertain to the project installation and implements system changes as required
  • Analyzes project costs and works with accounting and finance departments to determine customer billing

Your background includes:

  • Minimum construction related requirements include:
  • Minimum five (5) years related experience in Lighting Projects
  • Working knowledge and experience in Lighting projects
  • Exposure to project development
  • Exposure to working with and directing project teams
  • Experience in developing schedules
  • Demonstrated ability to work with others including customers in a professional and ethical manner
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of OSHA, Federal, and State Safety regulations

A bonus to have:

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year college or university with minimum five (5) years' construction related experience in Lighting Projects
  • Minimum construction related requirements include:
    • Experience in project development
    • Intimate knowledge and experience in Lighting projects and electrical systems
    • Training and supervision
    • Working with and directing project teams
    • Successfully managed project schedules
    • Running jobsite progress meetings
    • Working directly with owners in a professional and ethical manner
    • Managing project budgets
    • Demonstrated working knowledge of OSHA, Federal, and State Safety regulations
    • Demonstrated ability to successfully manage projects from development to project closure,
    • Demonstrated ability to manage project budgets and project schedules, properly document projects, and work well with customers and achieve customer satisfaction on every job
