Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Instrumentation and Controls Engineer to join our innovative engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design, development, and implementation of instrumentation and control systems for various industrial applications. This role requires a strong understanding of control theory, process instrumentation, and system integration.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and Development:
- Design and implement control systems, including PLC programming, HMI development, and SCADA systems.
- Develop instrumentation specifications and selection criteria for various projects.
- Create and review P&IDs (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams) and control schematics.
System Integration:
- Integrate control systems with existing infrastructure and ensure seamless operation.
- Coordinate with electrical and mechanical engineers to ensure compatibility and performance.
Testing and Commissioning:
- Conduct factory acceptance tests (FAT) and site acceptance tests (SAT) for control systems.
- Perform system commissioning, calibration, and troubleshooting.
Project Management:
- Manage instrumentation and control aspects of multiple projects, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets.
- Prepare project documentation, including control narratives, functional specifications, and user manuals.
Compliance and Standards:
- Ensure all instrumentation and control designs comply with industry standards and safety regulations.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in control technology and best practices.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in instrumentation and control engineering, preferably in an industrial setting.
- Proficiency in PLC programming (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley) and HMI/SCADA systems.
- Strong understanding of process instrumentation, control theory, and automation systems.
- Experience with control system design tools and software.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Certifications:
- Certification in control systems or instrumentation (e.g., ISA Certified Control Systems Technician) is a plus.
Preferred Requirements:
- Master’s degree in Control Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with DCS (Distributed Control Systems) and advanced control strategies.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity practices for industrial control systems.
- Familiarity with industry standards such as ISA, IEC, and NFPA.
- Experience with programming languages such as Python, C , or MATLAB for control applications.
- Project management certification (e.g., PMP).
