Job Title: IoT Sensor Network Configuration and Commissioning Specialist

Location: Remote with fieldwork in NYC

(Additional pay and expenses covered for fieldwork)

Position Type: Full-time, Contract

Project Overview:

We are seeking a skilled professional to support the configuration, installation, and commissioning of a comprehensive stormwater and seawater infiltration monitoring system for a major municipal client. This project includes the deployment of telemetry systems and sensors across hundreds of site.

Key Responsibilities:

- Configuration and Setup:

- Remotely configure telemetry systems and sensors, including edge devices, radar water level sensors, gate angle sensors, and submerged water level sensors.

- Ensure proper integration of all hardware components, including power supply, data transmission, and connectivity.

Technical Support:

- Provide remote technical support during installation and commissioning phases.

- Assist with troubleshooting and resolving hardware and software issues.

- Ensure secure data transmission and storage, adhering to the company's multi-layered cybersecurity measures.

System Monitoring and Maintenance:

- Monitor system performance and provide ongoing remote maintenance support to ensure optimal operation.

- Conduct periodic system checks and updates to maintain data accuracy and reliability.

- Collaborate with R&D engineers and technical support teams to implement system improvements and updates.

Data Management and Reporting:

- Utilize the company's platform to manage field data, including acquisition, storage, and visualization.

- Generate scheduled and on-demand reports for compliance and operational purposes.

- Analyze data trends to optimize system performance and provide actionable insights to operators.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.

- Proven experience in configuring telemetry systems and sensors, preferably in urban infrastructure or water management projects.

- Strong understanding of IoT technologies, data logging, and real-time telemetry.

- Familiarity with cybersecurity principles and best practices for remote monitoring systems.

- Excellent technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a project management environment.

- Strong communication skills for effective coordination with project managers, local installation crews, and technical support teams.

Preferred Skills:

- Hydrology and water engineering.
