We are seeking an Engagement Letters Analyst to join our clients team at the Firm's New York City office (hybrid). This role is vital in supporting the Firm’s client-driven agreements by reviewing, analyzing, and managing Engagement Letters and Outside Counsel Guidelines ("OCGs"). You will play a key role in ensuring that client engagement terms meet the needs of the Firm while supporting effective decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform strategic analyses to support the Firm’s client-focused and industry-specific initiatives.
- Draft clear and compliant Engagement Letters, ensuring alignment with Firm policies and legal requirements.
- Review and analyze existing Engagement Letters and OCGs, identify potential issues, and draft responses.
- Create and maintain a comprehensive database of Engagement Letters and OCGs, managing records and escalating outstanding items.
- Serve as a key resource and point of contact for inquiries regarding client engagement terms.
- Address requests from attorneys and staff, offering clear and effective communication.
- Continuously enhance knowledge of procedures and processes related to client engagement.
- Analyze and interpret documents and data, summarizing findings to assist in decision-making.
- Generate and analyze reports, sharing key insights and data regarding client engagement terms.
- Collaborate with management, partners, and cross-departmental teams to manage multiple client analysis projects.
- Leverage technology to assist in the analysis of Engagement Letters and OCGs.
- Demonstrate effective interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills to foster strong working relationships.
- Manage Firm resources responsibly and comply with operational policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- In-depth knowledge of drafting and reviewing Engagement Letters, with the ability to respond to internal and client inquiries.
- Familiarity with law firm operations and key client relationships.
- Strong ability to break down complex tasks and meet deadlines.
- Skilled in reading, interpreting, and following instructions with creative problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Litera Compare/redlining software. Familiarity with Aderant Expert, A.I., and relational databases is a plus.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical, troubleshooting, and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage sensitive matters and maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Able to work independently and collaborate effectively within a team.
- Flexibility to adjust hours and meet the Firm’s business needs.
Experience & Education:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Minimum of 3 years of related experience.
