OVerview

You'll be responsible for using Solidworks to design, 3D model, and specify mechanical components.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Review technical project requirements with the Project Engineer and/or Project Manager (PE/PM).
• Develop 3D models and assemblies within the project scope using Solidworks software under PE/PM guidance.
• Create fabrication drawings from 3D models.
• Assist PE/PM in creating the Bill of Material (BOM) tree.
• Develop mechanical BOMs following company standards and under PE/PM direction.
• Identify long lead items to prioritize procurement.
• Communicate regularly with the Project Engineer regarding drawing standards, layout, design practices, and specification compliance.
• Attend scheduled project meetings to review the status and progress of material procurement, fabrication, assembly, QC (Quality Control), and project schedule.
• Perform Finite Element Analysis (FEA) of assemblies as required.
• Regularly review the project Vendor Print Index (VPI) for scheduled completion of drawings and communicate specific needs or concerns to the PE/PM.
• Maintain availability during the fabrication and assembly of engineered systems to ensure design requirements are implemented and address questions or needs promptly.
• Travel to sites as required to assist in reviewing scope, troubleshooting equipment, or assisting in commissioning.

Qualifications and Education

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 4-10 years of experience.
• Proficiency in Solidworks, AutoCAD, and MS Office (Word and Excel).
