Senior Electrical Engineer (Building Systems)

I am partnered exclusively with an exciting, high growth Design and Build Company specializing in sustainability, looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer to join the team.

We are seeking a Senior EE with a background in HVAC and building systems to work on ground-up and retrofit situations, support decarbonization planning and design, and develop facility improvement projects within our fully integrated team.

This candidate will have the opportunity to train under some of the best engineers in the country to become an expert in designing systems to make buildings healthier, safer, and more energy efficient. Our clients include data centers, major universities, international pharmaceutical manufacturers, state governments, counties, and school districts.

Job Responsibilities

• Create electrical designs for various building types, including commercial and private facilities.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure electrical designs are accurate, comprehensive, and practical.
• Review and approve electrical submittals and shop drawings.
• Develop and manage project documentation, such as electrical plans, specifications, and related documents.
• Ensure all electrical work complies with relevant codes, regulations, and safety standards.
• Regularly communicate and coordinate with stakeholders, including clients, design teams, subcontractors, and suppliers.
• Build and maintain relationships with suppliers and manufacturers to stay informed about new technologies and products.
• Offer technical support and guidance to project team members as required.

Qualifications and Skills

• Degree in Electrical Engineering (Associate or Bachelor's).
• Over 5 years of experience in electrical design for commercial or industrial projects.
• Deep understanding of electrical design principles, relative to areas such as HVAC, power distribution, lighting, fire alarm systems, and building automation.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and specifications.
• Proficient in lighting design and control.
• Experience with NEC, Revit, generator system design, Bluebeam Revu, and Studio.
• Experience in energy modelling for building systems is an advantage, but somewhere we can offer training around
