The Staff Accountant is responsible for providing financial, administrative, and clerical support to the organization. This role involves processing accounts payable transactions, ensuring
accuracy and completeness of invoices, and maintaining compliance with company policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Process vendor invoices and ensure proper documentation and approval.
- Utilize a Delegation of Authority matrix to ensure proper spending limits by role. Enter and code invoices accurately in the accounting system.
- Prepare and process electronic transfers and payments.
- Reconcile accounts payable transactions and maintain accurate records.
- Monitor accounts to ensure payments are up-to-date.
- Respond to vendor inquiries and resolve any issues or discrepancies.
- Assist with month-end closing and account reconciliations.
- Maintain vendor files and ensure compliance with company policies.
- Support the Senior Accountant with various accounting projects and tasks as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field preferred,
- 1-3 years of accounts payable or general accounting experience.
- Will consider candidates who do not meet the degree requirements if they have more years of work experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
