The ideal candidate will possess strong experience in data migration processes, particularly using CDC (Change Data Capture) with IIDR tools. AWS certification is a plus.
Key Responsibilities:
Database Migration: Lead and execute the migration of databases from IMS Mainframe to PostgreSQL and Oracle environments, ensuring data integrity and minimal downtime.
CDC Implementation: Implement Change Data Capture using IIDR tools to facilitate real-time data synchronization during the migration process.
Database Management: Maintain and optimize database performance in PostgreSQL and Oracle, ensuring high availability and reliability.
Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of database architecture, migration processes, and system configurations.
Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, systems analysts, and IT support, to ensure seamless integration and functionality.
Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve database-related issues promptly, ensuring minimal impact on business operations.
AWS Integration: Utilize AWS services to enhance database performance, scalability, and security, especially during and after migration.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in database management, with a focus on IMS Mainframe, PostgreSQL, and Oracle.
Technical Skills:
Proficient in IMS Mainframe database environments.
Strong experience with PostgreSQL and Oracle databases.
Hands-on experience with CDC using IIDR tools.
Knowledge of AWS services and best practices is highly desirable.
Certifications: AWS certification is a plus.
