Ensure that the CBTC project is compliant with the contract, the system requirements and the local electrical regulations.
Design and instruct subcontractor designer to route cables within the technical rooms and along the track system, managing filling ratio, existing pathways challenging, proposing new pathways etc..
Manage and seek resolution of the technical Interfaces between the engineering installation works and technological Systems/subsystems;
Ensure the application of quality procedures for the emissions of the documents at every stage of the design;
Identify the critical issues in the development of the project and propose mitigation actions;
Represent the Installation engineering team and support the design choices with the client;
Seal documents and drawings prepared by, or under the direct supervision as part of professional engineering services rendered to the public. This may include power design, signaling or other subsystem that are input to Engineering Installation documents.
Ability to use of Bluebeam and CAD software for interfaces definition and management, as part of the project delivery strategy according to the Engineering Management Plan.
Required Skills/ Knowledge5 to 10 years' experience of Electrical Works in the Railway Engineering context especially developed in the area of construction and installation Design. Additional expertise in the railways contexts is considered as a plus. Electrical California Licensed Professional Certification required. Certified in California PE in Electrical Engineering. Solid experience in rail context with managing wayside installation design and routing cables along the track and within the technical rooms. Knowledge ExpectedOperative competencies
Survey field locations and gather information for the existing infrastructure to complete the installation design when necessary
Ability to identify, understand and overcome installation challenging when developing the design
Size pathways and raceway, considering existing conditions and filling
Familiar with Requirement Traceability Matrix and the Interface Registers tools.
Design management of contractors and sub-contractor activities: contract requirements and design processes-control;
Previous experience in construction is a plus.
