Job Title: Strategic Sourcing and Procurement Director

Location: Sumner, WA (Hybrid = on-site 2-3 days/week)

Duration: Full-Time Permanent role

Pay Range: $150K TO $180K Per Annum Benefits

Job Summary
As the Strategic Sourcing and Procurement Lead, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing all procurement and strategic sourcing aspects. Reporting directly to the Head of Business Operations, you will lead the development and execution of innovative sourcing strategies to enhance cost-effectiveness, performance, and quality driving cross-functional decisions across the organisation. Your leadership will drive efficiencies, and cost savings, and ensure the highest material quality standards for our products.

Responsibilities

· Strategic Planning and Execution:

o Develop and execute short- and long-term sourcing strategies aligned with organizational goals and objectives

o Drive continuous improvement through robust KPI reporting and analysis, leveraging market trends and supplier insights to inform strategic decisions

· Supplier Management and Contract Negotiation:

o Identify, evaluate, and onboard suppliers that meet quality, cost, and compliance requirements

o Lead contract negotiations to secure favourable terms, pricing, and service levels while collaborating with legal and finance teams to mitigate risks

· Cost Management and Efficiency Optimization:

o Implement cost-saving initiatives and efficiency improvements across the procurement function

o Analyze spending patterns, identify opportunities for cost reduction, and track savings achieved through procurement activities

· Compliance and Risk Management:

o Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and organizational policies

o Champion vendor quality initiatives and ensure adherence to all relevant regulations and standards

· Team Leadership and Development:

o Lead strategic sourcing and procurement professional(s), fostering their growth and equipping them with the skills needed for success

o Provide strong leadership and guidance, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning

· Cross-Functional Collaboration:

o Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to streamline production planning and optimize the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process

o Partner with R&D and Quality to source and qualify raw materials, prioritizing cost savings without compromising on quality

Qualifications

· Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related field

· Minimum of 8 years of sourcing and procurement experience in a manufacturing environment; prior food manufacturing or CPG experience is a strong plus

· Demonstrated track record of growth in procurement and team management

· Strong negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills

· Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and lead teams effectively

· Solid understanding and experience of purchasing strategies and inventory management

· Proven analytical and decision-making skills to support effective buying decisions, problem resolution, and process improvements

· Experience in managing and developing buyers and other team members

· Effective communication skills and ability to work well with teams and cross-functionally

· Superior attention to detail and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment

· Persuasive negotiation skills with experience working with contracts

· Excellent interpersonal skills

· Exceptional time management, program management, and organization skills

· Advanced Excel skills
