DescriptionThis is NOT a summer position, looking for pre-med students in their gap year.
This is a part time position.
This role will entail following your provider’s schedule. Most providers service between 1-3 locations (not in the same day) but some days could be in McKinney and some in Allen for instance.
A Medical Scribe is an individual trained in medical documentation who assists a physician throughout their shift. The primary goal of a Medical Scribe is to increase the efficiency and the productivity of the physician. The Medical Scribe allows the doctor to focus on what is most important, the patient.
A summary of a Medical Scribe’s duties includes performing all clerical and information technology functions for the physician. You also must be able to anticipate physician needs to facilitate the flow of clinic. Medical Scribes must be discreet, tactful, and modest in the performance of duties so as not to distract medical staff from patient care. Good judgment, organizational ability, initiative, attention to detail, and the ability to be self-motivated are especially important while working as a Medical Scribe. Good attendance is also an important element of this job since you will be hard to replace.
Responsibilities
- Input reports from medical personnel
- Translate abbreviations into proper form
- Input orders including any labs, imaging, or procedures
- Generate any outgoing referrals
Salary: $15.00 per hour
Schedule
- Monday to Friday
- No weekends
QualificationsExperience:
- Typing: 1 year (Preferred)
- Medical terminology: 1 year (Preferred)
- Eclinicalworks EMR knowledge (preferred)
