This position offers a flexible, hybrid schedule from our Reading office.
Objective
Candidate responsibilities will include start-to-finish project direction, design, oversight, and quality control for various water wastewater projects. A successful candidate will have demonstrated an extensive background in the design and execution of water/wastewater projects.
Role and Responsibilities
Mentor junior staff in the profession's technical and career development aspects.
Lead internal engineering and design teams on water and/or wastewater projects.
Review the overall project scope, establish the basis of design, and communicate it to all stakeholders.
Utilizing the basis of design, complete the concept design, PFD and P&ID. This includes the ideation of theprocess control philosophies and control narratives.
Complete and review calculations utilized for sizing hydraulic components and process equipment.
Oversee and develop site layouts and facility mechanical designs to process objectives and code requirements.
Identify, size, specify, and select process equipment.
Complete technical and commercial reviews of vendor-provided equipment.
Review AutoCAD drawings, 3D piping models, fabrication drawings, and Bill of Materials.
Generate process models in software such as BioWin, for use in design and troubleshooting.
Collaborate withproject managers in developing schedules and budgets.
Support facility commissioning and startup activities.
Assist with technical aspects of Permit applications.
Develop detailed performance specifications for water/wastewater projects, ensuring efficient project execution.
Ensure thorough communication and coordination with project management, procurement, equipment vendors, internal designers, business development, and client project teams.
Periodically provide technical support and insight for Business Development initiatives to develop and promote new client relations.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field
7 years of experience in civil/environmental engineering within the water/wastewater industry
Active P.E. license
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office
Valid Driver’s license
