About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and results-oriented Accountant to join our growing team. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of our financial information. You will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including preparing journal entries, maintaining financial records, and generating reports that empower our management team to make informed decisions. Must have Accounting degree and 3 years of experience! We are looking for a candidate that can provide managerial accounting reports rather than a CPA focused candidate. This is a HYBRID contract to hire opportunity.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare accurate and GAAP-compliant journal entries.
- Manage fixed asset ledgers, prepaid expenses, and depreciation schedules.
- Develop and maintain corporate expense allocations.
- Reconcile bank statements for multiple companies.
- Implement positive pay data to safeguard against fraud.
- Create and present financial statements and supporting schedules.
- Analyze monthly financial statements and identify variances.
- Assist in budgeting and forecasting initiatives.
- Develop and recommend internal control policies and procedures.
- Support financial and tax audits by preparing necessary schedules.
- Gather, interpret, and summarize data to support organizational goals.
- Ensure data accuracy and quality through regular checks.
- Manage accounts receivable, including invoicing, posting payments, and sending statements.
- Handle new shareholder onboarding transactions and document them in the CRM system.
- Investigate customer account inquiries and maintain shareholder tracking data.
- Update expense reimbursement software and train new users.
- Provide backup support to the accounts payable team.
- Take on additional projects as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and accounting software. Dynamics GP experience is a plus.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to collaborate effectively and report to a manager.
- Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and exceptional organizational skills.
- Dependable, self-motivated, and results-oriented with a positive attitude.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Discretion and tact when handling confidential information.
- Competitive salary range: $60,000 - $70,000 per year.
- Hybrid work environment (combination of office and remote work).
