Summary : Seeking an Assistant Machine Shop Manager to oversee operations, including material selection, work order creation, and process prioritization.

Job Requirements :

Knowledge of machining principles using Bridgeports, CNC mills, CNC lathes, Saws, and fabrication.

Organizational skills for shipping / receiving materials.

Preferred Skills :

Experience in a machine shop environment.

Mechanical or electrical background / hobbies.

Stability indicated by having less than 2 jobs in the previous 5 years.

Proficiency with ERP software / inventory management.

Competence in written and verbal communication for customer updates & presentations.

Job Responsibilities :

Evaluate prints to determine correct material sizes to order.

Create work orders that route parts from start to finish including coatings.

Arrange shipments to vendors when necessary.

Prioritize parts through the shop for efficiency.

Assist with outsourcing components as needed.

Pre-interview questions :

Duration of experience in a machine shop environment?

Experience specifying raw material sizes from prints?

Equipment operated in a machine shop?

Understanding of the difference between a CNC machine and a Bridgeport?

Usage of Microsoft and ERP software?

Additional Information :

Must be able to start ASAP.

Position requires adherence to ITAR Work Regulations.

U.S. Citizenship or Green Card required; no sponsorship available for OPT / EAD / F1, H1B, TN Visa holders.

Pay Details : $18.00 to $21.00 per hour
