Operates hack, band, and abrasive saws, adjusts speeds and feeds for a wide variety of materials. Measures stock to length or dimension for angle cuts, scribes between dimensions, cuts from layout using fixtures provided on ganged or single piece angle work. Assists with machine maintenance and other subsidiary shop duties.

Responsibilities

• Fulfill raw material requirements of machining areas
• Debur / polish workpieces
• Fill machine lubricants and cutting fluids
• Empty machine chip containers
• General shop cleaning
• Assist with projects or process needs
• Assist in machine TPM (preventive maintenance) program
• Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations
• Follow Lean manufacturing utilizing tools such as Kaizans, 5S, RIE’s and other work area standards

Experience and Skills:Minimum Qualifications & Experience:

• High school diploma or GED.
• Basic math skills.
• Experience following written instructions and reading blueprint specifications.
• Experience in operation of hack, band, and abrasive saws.
• Demonstrated time management skills and self-management behavior.
• Demonstrated ability to multi-task.
• Demonstrated ability to follow directions.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively (including listening).
• Demonstrated ability to define problems, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Demonstrated ability to quickly learn and apply new skills.
• Satisfactory results from a fit-for-duty screen and drug screen.

• Ability to follow written instructions.
• Basic print reading.

Pay Range: $22.05-$22.80 per hour
