Overview:
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Pipefitter Helper to join our team. As a Pipefitter Helper, you will play a crucial role in supporting the fabrication of piping systems, ASME code pressure vessels, a field team running process equipment at various locations across the United States, maintenance, and repair of pipes, valves, and fittings in various industrial settings. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your skills in mechanical work, learn from highly experienced professionals, and contribute to the success of our organization. We are a small tight knit group of highly skill tradesmen and engineers.
Duties:
- Assist pipefitters in the fabrication of piping systems, including bending, cutting, and assembling pipes and fittings.
- Use power tools, such as drills and saws, to build systems of pipes and related components.
- Familiarize yourself with ASME B-31.3 chemical process piping codes and standards to ensure compliance with international l regulations.
- Help to install, inspect, and test pipes and fittings, ensuring they are properly welded or screwed.
- Learn and apply basic math skills to calculate pipe sizes, lengths, and connections.
- Assist in the bending and fabrication of tubing and piping components.
- Operate tube bending machines and other specialized equipment.
- Collaborate with experienced pipefitters to gain hands-on training and develop your skills.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to safety protocols and regulations.
Skills:
- Strong mechanical knowledge and experience with pipefitting and plumbing systems.
- Ability to build pipe assemblies from blue prints
- Some welding techniques highly valued.
- Basic math skills for calculating pipe sizes, lengths, and connections.
- Experience with pipeline installation and maintenance.
- Knowledge of tube bending techniques and equipment.
- Ability to fabricate piping components, including bending and cutting pipes and fittings.
- Familiarity with safety protocols and regulations in a pipefitting environment.
-Knowledge of pipe fittings, flanges, pipe sizes and schedules.
Travel:
-Travel to remote sites for periods of up to two weeks is required.
-Clean Driving record required as it will involve driving of company and rental vehicles.
