The General Manager is responsible for leading and developing Operations in the Midwest Region. This role will develop and implement strategies to assist the region in meeting its critical goals and supporting the Company’s overall strategy in an efficient manner.
Job Responsibilities:
Prepare and improve business plan and budget preparation.
Track region’s performance and provide reports to Executive Leadership.
Drives continuous measurable improvement in safety, financial performance, and customer satisfaction.
Lead, guide, coach and mentor Operations Managers to implement and improve safety performance, maintenance, and overall Business Planning.
Understand each customer’s unique needs and lead the operations to serve those needs; work with customers in the spirit of partnership to develop mutually beneficial solutions.
Ensure all operating practices and procedures are followed.
Provide leadership to Team Members through teaching and training.
Collaborates and effectively communicates with other departments.
Develop Team through defining roles, promoting relationships, expressing appreciation and encouragement, providing support and motivation.
Support and spend time in the field working with Team Members and building relationships with local customers.
Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED.
TWIC card (or ability to maintain one).
Driver’s License.
Minimum of 7 years of leadership experience in leading operations.
Hands-on experience with emergency response, oil and gas, truck transportation, environmental projects and related safety processes and procedures.
Ability to handle multiple projects and operations simultaneously.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written.
Self-motivated, creative and strategic in approaching issues.
Strong analytical skills that aid in solving problems in a positive and proactive manner.
Ability to identify and focus on problem areas and initiate steps to resolution.
Financial and accounting skills with solid conceptual understanding of accounting controls and practices.
Strong computer skills.
Contract negotiation and management experience.
Knowledge of oil and gas, manufacturing, rail, utilities, steel production, and other industrial industries.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing or Sales.
40-hr HAZWOPER certification.
Experience with financial analysis tools.
