What we’re looking for:

In this position you will oversee all HR functions within the assigned region/facilities, playing a critical part in fostering employee engagement, promoting a positive work environment, and ensuring compliance with Envision Cold’s policies and procedures. As our facilities are both in the U.S. and Canada, you will be responsible for supporting operations managed by both U.S. and Canadian law, particularly under the rules and regulations within the state of Washington, California, and the Canadian Province of British Columbia (specifically Surrey, BC).

Qualified candidates must either reside in Blaine, Washington or a suburb/city near Blaine to allow time onsite. Travel between locations in California, Washington and British Columbia is required.

What you’ll do (including, but not limited to): 

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee inquiries, concerns and grievances.
  • Bi-weekly payroll management.
  • Mediate and resolve conflicts between employees or between employees and management.
  • Foster a positive work environment through effective communication and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Identify and aid in the development of training needs for employees.
  • Conduct training sessions on topics such as safety protocols, company policies, and job specific responsibilities and procedures.
  • Oversee employee leave programs, including Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Washington State’s Paid Family & Medical Leave (PFML) program, Family Care Act (FCA), maternity/paternity, military, domestic violence, personal, and other leave policies.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant labor laws, regulations and company policies.
  • Implement performance management processes, including goal setting, performance reviews and performance improvement plans.
  • Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on performance-related issues and concerns.
  • Travel between locations to provide any necessary support, including travel to Canada.

What you’ll bring to the role: 

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in HR Management is required. HR experience in a warehouse, manufacturing or trucking environment highly preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration or related field, or additional years' experience
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations. Knowledge and experience with employment laws and regulations in Canada highly preferred.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in HRIS (Human Resources Information Systems) and other relevant software applications.
  • Certification in HR (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) is a plus.
  • Ability to travel within the region as needed (10-25%). Must have a valid passport.
