Paid Time Off:

We currently have an exciting opportunity available for an experienced National Director of Clinician Well-Being!

Responsibilities:

The National Clinical Director of Professional Wellbeing (NCDPWB) contributes to the Envision Healthcare leadership team by identifying strategic priorities around clinician and non-clinician professional wellbeing. The Director will serve as an internal consultant and operational leader on projects impacting clinician and non-clinician wellbeing and will support and build collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, including specifically our experienced People and Culture Team. The NCDPWB will represent Envision in thought leadership and communications in their area of professional wellbeing, serving as a subject matter expert, operational leader and spokesperson.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Leads strategy and vision around professional wellbeing using best practice guidance
  • Builds and maintains trust with leaders and stakeholders through confidential careful listening, interpretation of issues then evaluation of needs surrounding clinician and non-clinician wellness
  • Assist in designing and facilitating presentations and workshops designed to foster professional wellbeing and positive organizational culture for internal stakeholders
  • Advise clinical leadership and clinician support leaders on the impact of operational initiatives on professional wellbeing. In this role, the NCDPWB will advise the Chief Medical Officer and interface with service line Chief Clinical Officers to drive professional wellbeing as a core tenet of the medical group
  • Recruit, educate, lead and motivate program support partners (clinical and nonclinical) for successful implementation of wellbeing programs in place or as developed, such as the intensive coaching program, peer observation program, and wellness champions program
  • Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest developments supporting healthcare professional wellbeing
  • Build supportive curriculum for clinician leadership, both new and tenured, related to professional wellbeing and development
  • Interface and advise Envisions National Clinical Advisory Board (NCAB) on current issues, obstacles, goals, and programming related to professional wellbeing
  • In consultation with stakeholders, develops, measures and reports goals and key performance indicators to organizational leaders in support of key strategic priorities and program utilization
  • Grow external stakeholder relationships and coordinate with marketing and communications to promote Envisions thought leadership around professional wellbeing.
  • Though not required, candidates interested in professional wellbeing research will be encouraged and supported in their desires to better define best-evidence approaches to professional wellbeing in the clinical setting
  • As wellbeing is an emerging and changing field, Envision desires a curious learner who will seek out the best practices and ideas available, propose alternatives with resilience and without fear of failure
  • Performs other position appropriate duties as required in a competent, professional, and courteous manner
Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or abilities required.

  • Minimum of five years experience in professional healthcare wellbeing program development, management, and strategic oversight
  • Presentation development and facilitation: Excellent communicator, effective in both oral and written form at all levels of the organization; able to communicate in a clear, concise, and professional manner
  • Creative thinker with well-rounded experience to include working knowledge of healthcare medical malpractice processes, psychological trauma and first aid, Human Resource policies and procedures, personal and professional wellness, leader development, teambuilding, coaching, communication, driving staff engagement, etc.
  • Significant leadership and program management experience with experience in building and leading effective teams, cultivating positive workplace culture, and driving operations to success
  • Active listener, collaborator, and problem solver who engages others easily, builds trust and rapport quickly, displays humility, and is comfortable in any setting with diverse groups
  • Solution oriented with flexibility in problem solving, using collaborative techniques to identify problems and implement solutions
  • Servant leader with high core values and strong character, always displaying moral courage and integrity
  • In this role, Clinicians can still maintain some clinical shift work

Education/Experience

  • MD, DO, PhD or Masters degree in Health Psychology is strongly preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Currently practicing clinicians are preferred
  • 5 years experience in clinical practice with extensive physician/clinician interface. Candidates with clinical department leadership or operational and/or people leadership experience are preferred, though candidates with extensive office practice focused on counseling and/or coaching will be considered
  • Experience in defining, designing, and implementing clinician facing health related programs is preferred
  • Ability to develop and document policies/procedures, SOPs, and reports, communicate effectively, (both orally and in writing), and convey thoughts in a well-organized, concise manner
  • Fluent in Microsoft Office Suite
