Description

As a Low Voltage Installation Technician, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing cable infrastructure in a low voltage environment. The ideal candidate will be to meet physical demands of the work site as well as provide excellent customer service. Key Responsibilities

• Pull/Terminate/Test communications cable
• Install RG6 Coaxial cabling
• Install Fiber Optic cabling
• Report any project scope changes, issues or concerns
• Knowledge of telco technologies, systems, and circuits.
• Ability to work independently when required.
• Installation of cable pathway systems
• Route cable into modular furniture and other work area outlets
• Build-out telecom and equipment rooms
• Install Firestops and various types of cable penetrations
• Install, maintaining, operating, and upgrading IT equipment (to include video teleconferencing (VTC) units and A/V equipment)
• Perform preventive maintenance on systems and equipment (may include climbing ladders and use of lift devices; requires proficiency with normal working tools, must know how to solder and crimp connections)
• Provides field reporting updates to Project Manager as necessary
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

Skills and Knowledge

• Vocational/Technical/Business School preferred not required
• Must be able to read and understand floor plans or willing to learn
• Must be able to work on ladders and scissor lifts or willing to learn
• Be confident working at heights utilizing ladders and lifting equipment
• Color vision as required to follow cable plant color codes
