Envision Unlimited is Hiring a BENEFITS SPECIALIST Near Chicagoland, IL

Description

Essential Responsibilities, include but are not limited to:

  1. Applies for and does all Food stamps (SNAP) updates.
  2. Fills out all DHS Redeterminations, Social Security Rep-Payee Reports, and any other reports that come in pertaining to a client's benefits for 24-hour CILAs.
  3. Receives and distributes new Medicaid / Link cards.
  4. Compiles information for and conducts social security phone interviews.
  5. Complete paperwork and set up custodial account for new clients.
  6. Completes quarterly analysis of Food stamps in 24-hour CILAs.
  7. Accompany clients on visits to Illinois Department of Public Aid (IDPA) or Social Security Administration office.
  8. Complete and ensure the timeliness of all assigned documents and forms that include van log sheets, event reports.
  9. Attend and participate in all staff meetings.
  10. Respond to medical behavioral emergencies following appropriate Health and Safety Professional Crisis Management, First Aid, CPR, and other procedures as necessary,
  11. Monitor and assist residents with personal grooming and appearance as necessary.
  12. Immediately report any medical/behavioral issues or emergencies or other unusual incidents to the Program Director, Administrator and/or Division Director.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES 

No supervisory responsibilities.

Requirements

To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.

EDUCATION, SKILLS, and/or EXPERIENCE

1. Two years of college or one year of college plus two years of full-time related work experience

2. OR high school diploma or equivalent Plus five years full-time related work experience required.

3. Must have proof of Direct Service Professionals (DSP) training. 

4. Must have a valid driver license, ability to drive agency vehicles and access to a reliable vehicle.
