Explore and embrace your role:As the Accounting Manager - Tax & Compliance you will play a crucial role in the success of the organization. Your work revolve around managing the tax, supporting audits, and special projects for the F&A organization. You will be tasked with identifying weaknesses in controls, opportunities, risks and process inefficiencies and act upon those findings. This position will be expected to gain a detailed understanding of all balance sheet accounts, P&L accounts and maintain a strong relationship with our internal and external customers, tax team and audit partners.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assists with the consolidated tax reporting including coordination of global tax provision, completion of tax packages and monthly FS reporting; provide documentation to support local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
  • Coordinate with outside accountants to ensure timely and accurately income tax filings
  • Lead the provision of information to external auditors for the annual audit.
  • Provides and coordinates sales/indirect tax expertise to billing groups; ensures nexus and tax rates are accurate.
  • Support GAAP and statutory financial statement audits.
  • Assist with tax planning opportunities and M&W transactions.
  • Provide guidance and support to internal stakeholders.
  • Perform technical research, collaborate with outside advisors and prepare documentation of conclusions.
  • Aid with the renewal of business licenses and matters pertaining to tax.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities/Experience:
  • At least 7 years relevant professional experience
  • Effective written and verbal communicate skills to present significant financial information to management and finance team including large variances to budget, estimated reserves, and revenue recognition risks.
  • Develops and maintains appropriate relationships with the leadership team and with other divisions within the organization.
  • Experience in multi-currency, purchase accounting, international environment including intercompany consolidations and eliminations
  • Effective participation in cross-functional teams with team-oriented work style showing respect for co-workers.
  • Commitment to continuous development and participates in ongoing training and development as assigned or approved to assure knowledge and skills remain current and comprehensive.
  • Maintains the confidentiality of proprietary and sensitive information, exercising sound judgment and discretion in any disclosure of information related to Cor Partners and its endeavors.
  • Adheres to all applicable state insurance regulation requirements and other applicable laws, regulations, and standards
  • Exhibit trustworthiness, integrity, and personal accountability.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with proficiency in Excel functions
  • Independent judgement/ decision making
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the matrixed organization.
  • Detail oriented with strong problem-solving skills, situational analysis, and decision-making abilities.
  • Highly organized and accountable to deadlines.
  • Willing to embrace change.
  • Effective problem-solving skills showing sound judgment and objectivity.
Preferred Skills/Abilities/Experience:
  • Ability to provide training and guidance for Staff Accountants, including career development and coaching
  • Project management skills to lead process improvement activities including automation.
  • Experience in collaboration with management and the IT department to leverage technology to improve productivity and enhance the experience of both internal and external customers
  • Strong organizational and time management skills; experience in Microsoft Dynamics GP; advanced mathematical and accounting skills and basic statistical skills; skills in analysis, interpretation, synthesis and reporting of highly technical financial data; gross and fine motor skill
Education:
  • Baccalaureate degree required; master’s degree desired.
  • CPA preferred
