PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Data Visualization Creation:
- Design and develop interactive and visually appealing Power BI reports and dashboards tailored to diverse business needs.
- Leverage your deep understanding of different visualization techniques to effectively communicate insights in a clear and user-friendly way.
- Stay up to date on the latest Power BI features and best practices to continuously improve report design.
- Semantic Model Expert:
- Create and maintain robust semantic models that ensure data consistency and accuracy across reports.
- Collaborate with data analysts and data engineers to understand data structures and build efficient data models for optimal performance.
- Data Warehousing:
- Possess a working knowledge of standard Data Warehousing principles, including star schema design and dimensional modeling.
- Partner with data warehousing teams to ensure seamless data integration and analysis within Power BI.
- Power BI Service Champion:
- Manage Power BI services, including setting up data gateways for secure data access.
- Schedule report refreshes to maintain data accuracy and ensure timely insights for users.
- Administer and maintain shared resources within the Power BI service environment.
- Requirements Analysis:
- Translate end-user requests and business requirements into well-defined wireframe/report mockups to facilitate development and ensure alignment with user needs.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels to bridge the gap between data and actionable insights.
- 3 years of experience working with Power BI.
- Proven track record of designing and developing user-friendly and insightful Power BI reports and dashboards.
- In-depth understanding of various visualization techniques and their effectiveness in different contexts.
- Experience creating and maintaining semantic models for optimized data analysis.
- Working knowledge of standard Data Warehousing principles.
- Proficiency with Power BI Service functionalities, including gateway management, refresh scheduling, and resource administration.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience with DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) for advanced data manipulation within Power BI.
- Familiarity with other data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau).
- Experience with data governance practices within Power BI.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field OR equivalent work experience
