PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Data Quality:
- Develop a comprehensive QA strategy for our data warehouse and reporting environments, focusing on data integrity, consistency, and timeliness.
- Identify and document potential data quality issues and collaborate with data teams to implement solutions.
- Automation Architect:
- Design and develop automated test frameworks using appropriate tools to test database objects, ETL processes, and reporting solutions.
- Implement robust test scripts to ensure comprehensive coverage of data quality checks.
- Maintain and enhance existing automation frameworks to keep pace with evolving data pipelines and reporting needs.
- Data Champion:
- Utilize your analytical mindset to identify, diagnose, and help resolve data discrepancies.
- Investigate data quality issues and propose solutions to ensure data accuracy across our systems.
- Work closely with Data Architects, Data Engineers, and Power BI developers to understand data models, transformations, and reporting requirements.
- Translate technical data quality concepts into clear and actionable insights for stakeholders.
- Documentation:
- Develop and maintain clear, concise, and up-to-date documentation for data quality testing processes and automated scripts.
- 3-5 years of experience as a QA Data Automation Engineer or a related role.
- Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts and best practices.
- Expertise in developing and executing automated test frameworks for data quality checks.
- Proven experience working with Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL Server, Power BI, and Azure Key Vaults.
- Proficiency in working with an Azure DevOps environment for CI/CD pipelines.
- Excellent SQL skills for writing ad-hoc queries to verify data integrity and analyze test results.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Experience with cloud-based data testing methodologies.
- Experience with data visualization tools for presenting data quality insights.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a similar field OR equivalent work experience
