Come join our team as a Medical Health Specialist and help Educational Opportunities for Children and Families (EOCF) realize a common mission by providing support services to the health team, as well as supporting screenings and children with health needs in the classroom environment. This is a non-benefitted, 35 hour per week position through the school year.

Required Education:

Current Certified Nursing Assistant or Medical Assistant credential.

Required Experience:

Experience providing medical care in a pediatric, clinical, community and/or school /childcare setting.

Knowledge:

• Principles of typical and atypical child development.
• Medication Administration in a classroom setting
• Core competencies related to certified nursing assist care such as tube feeding, diabetic care, seizure first aid and following doctor and nurse orders.
• Developmentally appropriate practices and child guidance techniques for birth to five year old children.
• Child immunization schedule and the ability to identify child immunization compliance.
• Pediatric sensory screenings for hearing and vision, to include reliable screening techniques and practices with OAE equipment for hearing and trained reliable LEA and PlusOptix vision screener.
• Child growth patterns and accurate height and weight collection.
