Epic Health System is Hiring an OB/GYN Physician Near Southfield, MI

 

Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated OB/GYN Physician to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive gynecological and obstetric care, including routine examinations, management of gynecological conditions, and performing various procedures within the office. The physician should be proficient in outpatient procedures and committed to delivering patient-centered care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Patient Care:

    • Conduct routine gynecological examinations, including Pap smears, breast exams, and pelvic exams.
    • Provide prenatal care, including regular check-ups, ultrasound evaluations, and patient education on pregnancy and childbirth.
    • Manage common gynecological conditions such as menstrual disorders, menopause, infections, and hormonal imbalances.
    • Offer family planning services, including contraceptive counseling, IUD insertions, and contraceptive implant placements.
    • Diagnose and manage sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and other reproductive health concerns.
    • Provide counseling and management for infertility and other reproductive challenges.
  • Procedures:

    • Colposcopy: Examine the cervix, vagina, and vulva for signs of disease, and perform biopsies as needed.
    • Endometrial Biopsy: Obtain tissue samples from the uterine lining for diagnostic purposes.
    • Hysteroscopy: Visual examination of the uterine cavity using a hysteroscope, often to diagnose and treat conditions like polyps and fibroids.
    • Loop Electrosurgical Excision Procedure (LEEP): Remove abnormal cervical tissue using a thin, low-voltage electrified wire loop.
    • Dilation and Curettage (D&C): Remove tissue from inside the uterus, typically for diagnostic purposes or to treat certain uterine conditions.
    • Nexplanon Insertion/Removal: Insert and remove the contraceptive implant.
    • Intrauterine Device (IUD) Insertion/Removal: Place and remove intrauterine devices for long-term contraception.
    • Cryotherapy: Treat abnormal cervical cells by freezing them.
    • Bartholin's Cyst/Abscess Treatment: Incision and drainage or marsupialization of Bartholin's cysts.
    • Ultrasound Imaging: Perform and interpret gynecological and obstetric ultrasounds.
    • Pessary Fitting: Fit and manage pessary devices for pelvic organ prolapse and incontinence.
    • Vulvar Biopsy: Obtain tissue samples from the vulva for diagnostic purposes.
    • Office-based Hysterosalpingography (HSG): Perform and interpret HSG for evaluation of uterine cavity and fallopian tube patency.
  • Patient Education & Counseling:

    • Provide patients with education on reproductive health, contraception, pregnancy, menopause, and other related topics.
    • Offer support and counseling for patients facing reproductive health challenges, including fertility issues and gynecological conditions.
  • Compliance & Documentation:

    • Maintain accurate and thorough patient records, ensuring compliance with clinic policies and medical standards.
    • Stay current with continuing medical education (CME) and updates in OB/GYN practices relevant to outpatient care.

Qualifications:

  • Medical degree from an accredited medical school
  • Board Certification/Eligibility in Obstetrics and Gynecology
  • Valid state medical license
  • Proven experience in OB/GYN care
  • Proficiency in performing a wide range of office-based OB/GYN procedures
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented environment
