THE ROLE
As a Staff Accountant at Kempower, you'll have the opportunity to contribute to the ever-evolving EV market. On a typical day, you'll be helping and preparing for end of month close activities, helping with AR functions, and reviewing contracts with cross-functional teams, making a direct impact on our mission to revolutionize transportation.
In this role you will
- Perform month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Reconcile and review various accounts with the accounting specialist.
- Assist financial controller with Revenue Recognition duties following ASC 606.
- This includes reviewing contracts and preparing Excel worksheets for review.
- Assist in AR duties.
- Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline processes and improve financial performance.
- Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Assist with special projects and ad-hoc analysis as needed.
- Assist VP of Finance with insurance management.
- Sales and Use tax reporting and analysis.
- Various financial platform assistance.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
- CPA certification or progress towards certification preferred.
- 2-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing or similar industry.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
- Strong understanding of US GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
