What To ExpectThis role will lead key priorities of EPRI’s Electric Transportation program. You will work across utility, automotive, and charging infrastructure industries while coordinating with key stakeholders. Key Responsibilities And RequirementsPerforms complex analysis with minimal supervision. Works directly with EPRI staff, both directly within the Electric Transportation team and with other EPRI teams. Engages with EPRI utility members and industry groups. RequirementsFor this particular position, we are looking for someone to help with data management, analysis, and insights of electric transportation data. In this role, you will be responsible for a composite big data set of light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles that is used to generate insights and modeling vehicle charging in a variety of scenarios. Key requirements for this position include:
Being well versed in data science procedures, especially for data cleaning and validation processes
Comfort with the various inputs needed for charging simulation modeling
Having a strong understanding of statistical principles for population weighting and sampling
Identifying where there are gaps in existing knowledge for the industry and help outline ways to fill those gaps
Balancing attention to detail with recognition of uncertainty and market-driving timelines
Visualizing data to show trends and highlights for non-technical audiences
Writing efficient Python/SQL code and complex queries across extensive data sets
Working with various data vendors and OEMs to import their data
The ability to compare and contrast various data-based projects and apply their learnings (and gaps) to a fast-moving industry
The ability to quickly distill high-level summaries in a useful, clear, and action-oriented manner to both technical and non-technical leaders
Presenting research work at industry and academic conferences
Additionally, responsibilities include leveraging data findings from the dataset and project to create generalized insights and informing other projects. This role will also be expected to collaborate and disseminate information across various internal and external teams to share learnings and integrate analysis happening in multiple parallel projects. Additional Requirements
A strong working knowledge of Python (pandas, geopandas, matplotlib, plotly).
Knowledge of R, SQL, MATLAB, and Tableau are a plus.
Ability to work with data sets at all sizes – from a small summary sheet to big data
Capability for developing ETL processes for new data sources
Working with geographic data in with multiple formats, including open source grids, census geographies, and point data (latitude/longitude).
Ability to use data to tell a story that benefits the utility industry.
Willingness to document, teach and delegate data processes to other members on the team.
Familiarity with one or more of the following: utility industry, transportation modeling, vehicle telematics, time-series data, population weighting
Submission of a code portfolio from previous work that demonstrates data processing, data visualization, and analysis capabilities
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field or equivalent experience required.

The salary range for this position is $112,100 USD to $132,300 USD annually. This salary range is an estimate, and the actual salary may vary based on various factors, including without limitation applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant's geographic location. This role is eligible to participate in EPRI’s annual incentive program. The amount of incentive varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the plan. This role is eligible to participate in EPRI’s standard employee benefit programs, which currently include the following: medical, dental, vision, 401k, STD/LTD and paid family leave, life and accident insurance, paid time off (flexible vacation, sick leave, and holiday pay).
