Key ResponsibilitiesJob Summary and Description:
  • Leads the sales process to meet funding targets. Provides day-to-day direction for the sales team and ensures sales objectives are achieved by closing ARP and supplemental opportunities.
  • Develops next year funding plan for ARP, supplemental, and governmentfor the sector in coordination with the sector VP and appropriate Directors. Ensures that the targets are stretched and can be met with the right strategy in place.
  • Ensures that proper sales management practices are utilized by the sales team including sales funnel management, call reports and account plans.
  • Assists the sales team in establishing/expanding executive/decision maker relationships to enhance revenue growth.
  • Actively participates in the development of new product offerings for the assigned sector. Identifies client needs not being addressed by EPRI and works in conjunction with marketing and technical staff to develop and launch desirable projects.
  • Works closely with sector leadership to develop, establish and execute multi-year and annual operating plans and strategies.
  • Drives value delivery and documentation in conjunction with sales team by developing and quantifying value received through application of EPRI R&D.
  • Ensures that sales team is effectively executing the EPRI client engagement model.
  • Works with government capture leaders to proactively identify government project opportunities that align with sector R&D objectives. Creates awareness of and positions EPRI’s capabilities in advance of the release of RFP’s/FOA’s. Interfaces with proposal team, program managers and management team to develop, write and finalize competitive proposals.
  • Takes a leadership role in working with directors, program managers and marketing staff to shape the R&D portfolio each year.
  • Accountable for pricing of EPRI membership and supplemental project portfolio for assigned sector. Works closely with sector portfolio manager to ensure pricing is consistent with sector objectives and goals.
  • Owns and manages EPRI’s membership satisfaction survey and feedback process, including survey design, implementation and tabulation. Analyzes and summarizes the key feedback received from members and provides the information to the assigned sector. Provides recommendations for improving member experience to EPRI leadership.
  • Establishes and manages budgets to plan.
  • Takes ownership for finalizing monthly funding reports and sending and reporting them to internal sector stakeholders.
  • Collaborates with SAE Senior Managers to develop and target new technical opportunities, create forecasts and manage matrixed sales organization.
  • Guides and delegates responsibilities to the sales analyst that enable the technical advisors to deal with EPRI members more efficiently.
  • Develops Real Time Performance (RTP) metrics for the Technical Advisors.
  • Works with sector VP, Directors, and TA’s to establish sales process for member engagement, executive engagement, SME / utility advisor meetings on site and web ex, and advisor meeting preparation
Education And Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree required in technical discipline. Engineering degree preferred along with advanced degree.
  • Minimum 15 years of management experience including 5 years of direct sales management experience in the energy industry or related science/technology solution sales.
  • Demonstrable track record of sales success as an individual contributor and sales leader.
  • Willing to travel approximately 65% of the time.

The salary range for this position is $161,500 USD to $210,000 USD annually.
This salary range is an estimate, and the actual salary may vary based on various factors, including without limitation applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant's geographic location.
This role is eligible to participate in EPRI’s annual incentive program. The amount of incentive varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the plan.
This role is eligible to participate in EPRI’s standard employee benefit programs, which currently include the following: medical, dental, vision, 401k, STD/LTD and paid family leave, life and accident insurance, paid time off (flexible vacation, sick leave, and holiday pay).
