EPS Security is recruiting for a Preventative Maintenance Technician to join our team! Our technicians play an essential role in the safety of local communities, installing and programming security solutions in Michigan homes and businesses. EPS Technicians are trained to work on state-of-the-art brands, such as First Alert®, DMP®, Digital Watchdog®, Notifier®, DSX®, and more.
The Job
- Test the following system components for proper operation in the customer’s facility using hand tools and volt/OHM meter:
- Test backup batteries by removing AC power from control and measuring battery voltage.
- Test intercom systems.
- Test access control system.
- Test and clean all video systems.
- Communicate with Technical Support department to determine if they are receiving proper signals during system testing.
- Field train new employees (may include other departments) to familiarize them with devices and testing procedure. May also include new customers or their employees.
- Recognize and report all service problems to Monitoring Center or Supervisor/Manager. May perform routine service as directed.
- Respond to alarms during storms as requested by management.
- Complete all required paperwork in a timely manner.
- Maintain a cleaned, organized, and stocked vehicle.
Your Skills
- High school diploma or GED.
- Basic knowledge of electricity.
- Ability to use hand tools.
- Effective interpersonal skills necessary to verbally communicate with customers and coworkers.
- Networking experience preferred.
- Available for scheduled “on-call” duties to respond to emergency service calls.
- Capable of lifting up to 50lbs and work on ladder heights up to 24ft.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to pass background check.
- Be able to work independently or as a member of a team.
