Business Unit/Department: Skid Technologies

Location: Lawrence, PA

Job Summary: The Director of Skid Technologies is essential to delivering successful customer outcomes, planning, coordinating the operations of the Skid Technologies business unit, and supporting and coaching the team. Responsibilities include developing policies, managing daily operations and allocating resources.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead the management of Skid Technologies including personnel management, project quoting and project execution
  • Develop strategic plans for the business to exceed sales and profitability expectations, with an eye toward scaling the organization for significant growth
  • Review and improve organizational effectiveness by developing processes, overseeing employees, establishing a motivating work environment, and creating innovative approaches to improvement
  • Uphold standards of safety and quality
  • Seek out opportunities for expansion and growth by developing new business relationships
  • Provide guidance and feedback to help others strengthen their knowledge and skills
  • Oversee day-to-day operations, assign weekly performance goals and ensure completion, and accomplish business unit goals
  • Maintain project timelines to ensure tasks are accomplished effectively
  • Develop, implement and maintain budgetary and resource allocation plans
  • Foster a culture which supports positive customer relations and outcomes by delivering employee feedback and evaluating the effectiveness and efficiency of the group
  • Identify and implement improvement opportunities to support a culture of continuous improvement

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Will possess a 4-year engineering degree or equivalent industry experience
  • Must have 8 years’ experience in the management of manufacturing operations
  • Must understand and have experience in working with LEAN Manufacturing principles
  • Will have strong financial acumen and experience managing the P&L
  • Must have strong critical thinking skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues effectively
  • Has excellent communication and people skills, and can communicate instructions clearly and concisely
  • Has strong organizational and time management skills, including prioritizing tasks and deadlines
  • Must be able to demonstrate commitment to safety and quality control
  • Must have the flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends, as needed
