Design Thinking is pivotal in helping Equitable define and solve complex business problems as part of the New Ways of Working (NWOW). Contributing to collaborative ideation is at the heart of this role and offers a diverse and challenging blend of logical problem solving, innovative thinking and astuteness to “connect the dots” while fostering an environment of engagement, openness and creativity. You will consult with project stakeholders and assist in designing curriculums to deliver workshops grounded in the core methodologies of Design Thinking. This involves engaging with often unfamiliar groups who are operating under high pressure. As a Design Thinking Innovation Analyst, you will be a champion for the “customer” and helping ground the organization in Design Thinking as a core method of problem solving.
Key Activities:
  • Contribute to Design Thinking workshops with creative and collaborative problem solving as the priority objective, including pre-workshop discovery sessions with stakeholders to outline the primary goals
  • Prepare workshop materials, whiteboards and room set up (in-person or virtual) for Design Thinking sessions
  • Energetically lead workshop components, such as breakout rooms, ensuring participants remain engaged and the desirable outcome achieved
  • Assist with creating training and education materials for Design Thinking
  • Help champion Design Thinking throughout the organization as a key pillar of the Innovation & Design Office (IDO); actively promote all NWOW practices including Agile, OKRs, Adaptive Leadership and Dynamic Enablers
  • Demonstrate customer-centricity; persistently advocate for the customer
  • Support a culture of iterative thinking, continuous learning and innovation
  • Actively participate in the Design Thinking team activities around team-building, communications and general IDO support
The base salary range for this position is $68,000 - $102,000. Actual base salaries vary based on skills, experience, and geographical location. In addition to base pay, Equitable provides compensation to reward performance with base salary increases, spot bonuses, and short-term incentive compensation opportunities. Eligibility for these programs depends on level and functional area of responsibility.

Required Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with Design Thinking methodology and tools used in workshops
  • 3 years experience with public speaking, facilitation and workshop development and delivery
  • 1 years experience using digital collaboration tools, such as Microsoft Whiteboard and Teams
  • Experience structuring workshop proposals and agendas
  • Familiarity with Agile methodology and nomenclature
  • Demonstrate strong reasoning, analytical and research skills
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Ability to effectively communicate with a disparate group of individuals as they travel through the process of Design Thinking and collaborative ideation
  • Observe and communicate to stakeholders and participants with all levels of knowledge and backgrounds of Design Thinking
  • Professional facilitation or Design Thinking certification is a plus
  • Visual design experience including digital prototyping is a plus

Influencing: Knowledge of effective influencing tactics and strategies; ability to impact decisions within and outside own organization.
Managing Multiple Priorities: Knowledge of effective self-management practices; ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, groups, or activities, making effective judgments as to prioritizing and time allocation.
Results Orientation: Knowledge of the importance of meeting or exceeding established targets; ability to drive critical activities to completion.
Storytelling: Knowledge of concepts and ability to plan, create and present business proposals, initiatives and ideas by storytelling actual business scenarios that are situation-specific, engaging, memorable and persuasive as compared to one-way, fact-based presentations.
