THE OPPORTUNITY WITH ERES

We are seeking an experienced Development Manager to join our ERES Capital Division to play a critical role in the planning, execution, and successful completion of our real estate development projects. This individual will be responsible for managing all aspects of the development process - from initial concept through project completion, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Project Management: Oversee and manage the entire development process, including site selection, feasibility analysis, design, permitting, construction, and close-out.
  • Budgeting and Financial Analysis: Develop and manage project budgets, perform financial analysis, and ensure projects meet financial performance targets.
  • Planning and Design: Collaborate with architects, engineers, lenders, attorneys and other consultants to develop project plans and designs that meet company standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Permitting and Approvals: Navigate the permitting process, securing all necessary approvals from local, state, and federal agencies.
  • Construction Management: Work closely with contractors and subcontractors to ensure construction activities are completed on schedule and within budget. Conduct regular site visits and meetings to monitor progress and address any issues.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Maintain clear and effective communication with all project stakeholders, including investors, clients, community members, and internal teams.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies to address them.
  • Market Analysis: Conduct market research to identify trends, opportunities, and competitive factors that may impact development projects.
  • Team Collaboration: Provide leadership and direction to project teams, fostering a collaborative and results-driven work environment.

Position Requirements: Skills & Experiences

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience at the Development Manager level
  • Full understanding of property sectors (hospitality, multifamily, office, industrial, retail, student housing, etc.) and their different investment characteristics and an ability to see the "big picture" in commercial real estate and capital markets. 
  • Proven track record of managing large-scale commercial real estate development projects
  • Strong financial acumen and experience with project budgeting and financial analysis
  • Excellent understanding of the development process, including site selection, design, permitting, construction, and project close-out
  • Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools
  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations related to real estate development
  • University or college degree in Real Estate, Finance, Construction, Economics, Urban Planning, Architecture or related field
