Services offered through the Erie 1 BOCES CBO are designed to assist participating districts by performing essential or core functions of a school district business office, including: accounts payable, payroll preparation, claims auditing, and general ledger maintenance. The CBO provides participating school districts with trained professionals to meet the evolving needs of their business operations and enables them to maintain compliance with sound accounting practices and achieve proper segregation of duties. Additionally, the Manager of Centralized District Management Services will have certain administrative responsibilities related to the School and Municipal Energy Cooperative (SMEC). These responsibilities require the Manager to focus on overall program leadership, growth, and sustainability to ensure that all services meet the ever-changing needs of the school business office.
