Job Responsibility: Responsible for the daily operation of Erie County Family Treatment Court. Also responsible for program monitoring, development, enhancement and team training.

Illustrative Duties:

FAMILY TREATMENT COURT OR SPECIALIZED DOCKETS COORDINATOR:

  • Maintain daily program operation including but not limited to:

a) identify potential program participants
b) conduct program eligibility assessments
c) orientation for new participants
d) organize and manage all program operational guidelines, files and
documentation
e) schedule and attend all treatment team and status review hearings
f) obtain regular reports from all service providers
g) acquire necessary information on emergent issues so team can stay
informed
h) prepare weekly staffing notes
i) maintain weekly orders sheet for participants
j) maintain phase advancement list

  • Complete and update release information.
  • Coordinate random drug testing protocol.
  • Develop and maintain Incentives Program/ Build community involvement.
  • Develop crisis intervention strategies and collaborates with team members on strategies.
  • Records, maintains and updates statistics for grant reporting to funding agencies for use with other grant opportunities. Collects various data, documents program outcomes and related statistics. Develops and monitors outcome measures of Family Treatment Court participants.
  • Develop and maintain MIS system.
  • Maintain the Policy and Procedures Manual, Participant Handbook, Participation Agreement, and Materials for Certification as a Specialized Docket with the Supreme Court.
  • Schedule and attend all Steering Committee meetings. Provide necessary materials to Steering Committee members.
  • Schedule and attend all Advisory Committee meetings. Provide necessary materials to Advisory Committee members
  • Work with Steering Committee and Advisory Committee to continue to develop and implement new processes and procedures to improve program operation. Challenge team to develop new programming and help identify gaps in service.
  • Identifies and resolves problematic issues for the Family Treatment Court.
  • Search for funding opportunities and assist with grant writing.
  • Maintains familiarity with current research, treatment modalities, funding opportunities and treatment programs.
  • Coordinate team training opportunities.
  • Organizes and participates in Specialized Docket workshops with community agencies.
  • Prepare and submit monthly Family Treatment Court report to Supreme Court
  • Prepare and submit quarterly ATP funding
  • Prepare and submit semi-annual OMHAS report
  • Review and submit monthly billing for drug testing services at Averhealth
  • Coordinate and monitor court referred assessment program
  • Coordinate court compliance program

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor of Arts or Science Degree in social/behavior science or a related field. Preference will be given to applicant with Advanced Degree or licensed as social worker, certified chemical dependency counselor or licensed clinical counselor.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in juvenile justice, child protective services, social work, substance abuse or mental health services or related field.
  • Valid Ohio driver’s license.

Qualifications desirable for employment:

  • Knowledge of specialized dockets model/methodology
  • Knowledge of substance use and mental health services
  • Knowledge of community resources and programs
  • Ability to be objective and facilitate the resolution of stressful and/or crisis situations
  • Ability to work with confidential information and maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with associates, supervisors, family treatment court team members and the general public
  • Ability to prepare reports; and Knowledge of grant writing.
  • Knowledge of English grammar, spelling, punctuation, and word usage
  • Knowledge of public relations
  • Ability to carry out detailed written instructions and oral instructions
  • Ability to gather, collate, and classify information

Ability to manage time and prioritize and organize

  • Ability to motivate others; ability to prepare reports
  • Skill in computer usage, including Microsoft Word
  • Skill in the use of general office equipment
  • Knowledge and understanding of criminal and civil law as is applies to abuse, neglect and dependency cases
  • Knowledge and understanding of Department of Job and Family Services
  • Knowledge of advocacy skills
  • Knowledge of counseling techniques and level of care criteria
  • Knowledge of clinical supervision techniques and methodologies
  • Knowledge of court room procedures
  • Knowledge of drug testing
  • Knowledge of wraparound philosophy
  • Knowledge of Medicaid and private insurance programs and procedures
  • Knowledge of research methods and information sources
  • Knowledge of Ohio Revised Code and Court Administrative Rules
  • Knowledge of Specialized Dockets philosophy and procedures.

Any combination of training and work experience which indicates possession of the skills, knowledge, and abilities listed above. Preferably a master’s degree in social/behavioral science or a related field; a minimum of three (3) years related work experience in social work with families or adolescents with substance use issues. Preferably a licensed social worker, licensed clinical counselor or certified chemical dependency counselor.
