Definition of Class

  • This is professional public health work of an administrative nature tasked with overseeing compliance with public health practices and procedures. This position will lead efforts to continually assess, monitor, and improve vaccine-related processes and outcomes within public health programs. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with vaccine administration protocols, regulations, and best practices within the community. It will require collaboration with healthcare providers, public health agencies, and community organizations to promote safety and effectiveness of vaccinations.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Inspects facilities, equipment, and operations to ensure compliance on a regular basis. Conducts routine inspections and audits of vaccine storage, handling, and administration procedures at healthcare facilities, clinics, pharmacies, and other vaccination sites. Provides guidance and training to healthcare providers and staff on vaccine administration protocols, proper storage techniques, and documentation requirements. Maintains accurate records of inspections, findings, and corrective actions taken to demonstrate compliance with regulatory requirements. Inspects facilities, equipment, and operations to ensure compliance on a regular basis. Conducts chart audits to ensure compliance with internal reporting. Prepares reports, presentations, and recommendations based on data analysis, audit findings, and program evaluations to communicate progress, challenges, and opportunities for improvement. Advocates for equitable access to vaccines and vaccination services, particularly among underserved and vulnerable populations, and work to address disparities in vaccine coverage and healthcare access. Documents and communicates continuous quality improvement activities, findings, successes, and lessons learned through regular reports, presentations, and meetings with internal and external stakeholders. Performs related work as required.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Knowledge of the public health or healthcare compliance, laws, regulations, and practices. Considerable knowledge of community organizations and facilities as related to public health nursing and clinical services.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. Ability to express ideas clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders and communities. Ability to conduct audits, inspections, and quality assurance activities within healthcare and public health settings. Proficiency in data analysis and reporting, with experience using electronic health record systems.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in public health, health sciences, healthcare administration, or a related field AND one year of experience in a clinical, laboratory or behavioral healthcare setting OR
  • Master's degree in public health or a related field OR
  • Associate's degree in nursing, certificate in medical assistant or similar level of education AND a minimum of five years of experience in a clinical, laboratory or behavioral healthcare setting
  • Must have a Valid Driver's License
  • Must Provide Own Transportation

Conditions Of Employment

  • The selected candidate will be pre-employment required to obtain, at their own expense, 3 forms of clearance, including PA State Police Criminal History Record Check; PA Child Abuse History; and FBI Criminal History Background Check including finger printing.
