Our client - a solar energy company in southern IL is seeking a Director of Project Management!Position OverviewThe Director of Project Management plays a vital role in overseeing and managing the successful execution of solar energy projects for our company. This position requires strong leadership, project management expertise, and a deep understanding of the solar energy industry. The Director of Project Management will lead a team of project managers, collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure the timely and efficient completion of solar energy projects from inception to completion.
ResponsibilitiesProject Planning and Strategy:
  • Develop and implement project management strategies and methodologies to ensure successful project execution.
  • Collaborate with senior management to align project objectives with company goals and strategies.
  • Conduct comprehensive project feasibility assessments, including budget analysis, resource allocation, and risk evaluation.
Team Leadership And Management
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of project managers, providing guidance and support throughout project lifecycles.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment, promoting effective communication and knowledge sharing.
  • Set clear performance goals, conduct performance evaluations, and provide constructive feedback to team members.
Project Execution And Monitoring
  • Oversee the execution of multiple solar energy projects, ensuring adherence to project plans, timelines, and budgets.
  • Monitor project progress, identify potential bottlenecks, and proactively implement corrective actions to keep projects on track.
  • Regularly communicate project updates, milestones, and risks to stakeholders, including senior management and clients.
Stakeholder Management
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, suppliers, contractors, and regulatory bodies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, procurement, and construction departments, to ensure seamless project integration.
  • Address stakeholder concerns and resolve conflicts in a timely and professional manner.
Quality Assurance And Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and safety protocols throughout project execution.
  • Implement quality control measures to ensure the delivery of high-quality solar energy systems and installations.
  • Conduct post-project evaluations and assessments to identify areas for improvement and incorporate lessons learned into future projects.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Renewable Energy, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
  • Proven experience (5 years) in project management, preferably in the solar energy or renewable energy industry.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
  • Excellent project management and organizational abilities, with a track record of successfully managing complex projects from start to finish.
  • In-depth knowledge of solar energy systems, technologies, and industry trends.
  • Proficient in project management software and tools.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with a strategic mindset.
