Strategic Importance of this Role
The sustained success of any world-class manufacturing operation relies on the effective establishment, execution, and ongoing maintenance of streamlined Planning, Scheduling, and Execution within Materials Management. At the heart of this strategic framework is the Materials Coordinator, a key player in the accurate management of inventory.
The Materials Coordinator assumes a critical role in supporting the Procurement Team in India and manages the purchasing of essential supplies for office, shop, and shipping. Central to this function is the adeptness in making economically sound decisions for the company. This involves a comprehensive evaluation of factors such as inventory carrying costs, warehousing costs, volume price breaks, transportation costs, plant handling costs, market projections, and the availability of plant assets.
In addition to procurement expertise, the Materials Coordinator oversees the Cycle Counting program, ensuring accurate and efficient monitoring of inventory levels. Simultaneously, they take charge of coordinating shipping and receiving activities, contributing to the seamless flow of materials within the operation.
The role extends beyond these responsibilities to include supervision of the Material Handling Team, with a focus on delivering exceptional customer service to internal stakeholders. The Materials Coordinator's multifaceted responsibilities and strategic decision-making play a pivotal role in the long-term prosperity and competitive edge of the manufacturing operation.

Qualifications
Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in supply chain or logistics and 3-5 years of experience in production planning or operations management in a manufacturing environment, or equivalent combination of education and experience. American Production and Inventory Control Society (APICS) certification in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) strongly preferred.
Tech Skills:
Advanced computer skills. Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and Database systems.
Other Skills:
Language: Ability to read and interpret complex documents such as financial statements, contracts, and procedure manuals. Possesses high level business writing skills. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or associates of ESP.
Quantitative: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistics. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, graphs, and proportions to practical situations.
Critical Thinking: Able to display high level reasoning skills to solve multiple, complex situations.
Working Conditions

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. While out on the production floor, the employee will be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hearing protection, safety glasses, steel-toed boots with metatarsals, and/or gloves when handling material or chemicals.
