Position Summary

The role of the Collections-Credit Specialist will be to work with Billing and Finance and the company’s individual and business customers to apply customer payments as well as collect customer past due payments, resolve past due disputes and credit requests, and assist in credit checks and monitoring for new and current customers.

Essential Functions

· Monitor accounts to identify outstanding debts.

· Investigate historical data for each debt or bill.

· Find and contact clients to ask about their overdue payments.

· Take actions to encourage timely debt payments.

· Process payments and refunds

· Resolve billing and customer credit issues.

· Update account status records and collection efforts

· Report on collection activity and accounts receivable status

· Gather prospective customer information for credit checks and reporting.

· Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

· Knowledge of billing procedures and collection techniques.

· Familiarity with laws related to debt collection (e.g. FDCPA)

· Comfortable working with targets

· Patience and ability to manage stress.

· Skilled in negotiation

· Problem-solving skills

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

· Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software, and accounting software.

Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma required.
• Associates’/Bachelor’s degree is a plus.
• At least five years of related and progressive work experience required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $28.00 per hour
