6:45 am - 5:15 pm 4 days per week

Job Description:

1) Preparing the Operating Room : Surgical techs set up the operating room by ensuring all necessary equipment, instruments, and supplies are sterile and ready for the procedure. This involves arranging surgical instruments according to the surgeon’s preferences and ensuring the sterile field is properly maintained.

2) Assisting the Surgical Team : During surgery, techs assist surgeons, nurses, and anesthesiologists by passing instruments and supplies as needed. They must anticipate the surgeon’s next move and maintain the flow of the operation without compromising sterility.

3) Sterilization and Maintenance : After surgery, surgical technologists are responsible for sterilizing and preparing instruments for reuse. They also help in cleaning and restocking the operating room, ensuring it is ready for the next procedure.

4) Patient Care : While they primarily focus on maintaining the sterile field and assisting the surgical team, surgical techs also play a role in patient care. This includes preparing patients for surgery, positioning them on the operating table, and monitoring their vital signs.

5) Documentation : Surgical technologists may be responsible for documenting the procedures performed, maintaining accurate counts of instruments and supplies used during surgery, and ensuring all records are complete.
