Job Summary:

• Understand all facets of the payment application process in order to research credits on customers’ accounts to determine if they are available for refund or transfer. Identify if there are issues with payment application or customer remittance.
• Research payments and make decisions based on the information provided within the case and supporting documentation to resolve case in customer states paid que
• Conduct research and analysis to identify root cause and facilitate resolution of problems that impact cash application.
• Recommend process improvements and assist with implementations.
• Learn various administrative processes that impact the payment cycle and customer experience for continuous improvement in payment application processes.
• Analyze customer payments and remittances to uncover trends. Report findings and recommendation that support continuous process improvement within revenue accounting.
• Run SQL reports and compile data in Excel Spreadsheets for reporting to revenue accounting management and finance.

Qualifications:

• High School or General Educational Degree (GED), college degree preferred, or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background. A Bachelor's Degree from a four-year university preferred.
• 3 years of experience in customer facing roles, payment services, customer service, collections or problem-solving roles required
• Excellent written, verbal, and listening communications skills required
• Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills required
• Intermediate Microsoft Office software skills including Word, Outlook, and Excel. Proficiency in SQL tools highly preferred.
• Must be self-directed and possess strong organizational and time management skills
• Must be able to work independently or in a team setting
• Have a good understanding of various payment types including ACH, wire transfer, scanned checks, lockbox, and credit cards
• Must be able to lift approximately 20 lbs., or more if required by the essential functions of the job
• Must be able to comply with all company policies, rules, procedures and Code of Conduct
• Must be able to interact well with others
• Must be able to work independently, or in a team setting
• Must be capable of working under tight time constraints in a high volume environment with multiple priorities
• Responds well to questions; Ability to read, interpret and comply with written information and documents such as safety rules, operations / procedure manuals and maintenance instructions with a high comprehension and concentration level to include the ability to meet deadlines
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, random drug and/or alcohol tests, and will be subject to a criminal history background check
• Must be authorized to work in the United States
