Job Summary: The Group Sales Manager at The Seagate Hotel & Spa is responsible for driving room revenue and promoting all aspects of the resort through proactive sales efforts. Candidates MUST have experience in luxury hotels' group sales. This position requires a comprehensive understanding of hotel operations and the ability to effectively communicate and coordinate with various departments to ensure guest satisfaction. The ideal candidate will be skilled in soliciting new accounts, maintaining existing relationships, and representing the hotel professionally in the community. This position is primarily on-site, but the candidate must have flexibility to travel for trade shows and prospecting.
Responsibilities
  • Guest Interaction: Familiar with hotel operations and locations to efficiently direct guests and answer their questions.
  • New Account Solicitation: Actively seek new business to meet and exceed room revenue goals through telephone solicitation, outside sales calls, site inspections, and written communication.
  • Comprehensive Sales: Promote all aspects of the resort, not just rooms.
  • Customer Correspondence: Prepare timely correspondence to customers, internal booking reports, and maintain files.
  • Interdepartmental Communication: Coordinate with other departments to ensure reservations and group details are complete and meet customer satisfaction.
  • Reporting: Assist with the preparation of reports and collection of competitive data as needed.
  • Meetings and Training: Participate in sales and revenue meetings, training sessions, and other sales-related meetings as required.
  • Community Engagement: Attend community and industry events to generate leads and build relationships.
  • Market Knowledge: Develop and maintain knowledge of market trends, competition, and customer needs.
  • Professional Representation: Represent the company professionally at all times, especially during external events.
Qualifications
  • Hotel Sales Knowledge: Understanding of hotel room sales and the competitive market.
  • Sales Planning and Execution: Ability to plan and execute sales efforts in line with The Seagate Hotel & Spa's objectives.
  • Communication Skills: Effective in communicating with customers positively and resolving complaints.
  • Sales Skills: Proven ability in sales with strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Management Experience: Prior management experience is preferred.
  • Technical Proficiency: Experience with computer programs such as Delphi, Microsoft Word, Excel, All Seated, HMS, and Jonas.
  • Educational Background: Four-year college degree preferred, but a combination of education and training within hotel sales may be considered.
  • Luxury Hotel Sales Experience: A minimum of 3 years of luxury hotel sales experience required; experience with golf and the Palm Beach market is a plus.
Physical Requirements/Other
  • Flexible Schedule: Ability to work varying schedules, including nights, holidays, and weekends.
  • Desk Work: Must be able to sit at a desk for up to 8 hours.
  • Extended Screen Time: Ability to spend extended periods viewing a computer screen.
  • Physical Demands: Lift, carry, and push up to 40 pounds.
  • Travel: Ability to travel up to 30%.
  • Field Work: Must be able to work in the field at least four days a week when assignments are out of the immediate home-based area.
