Job Title: Speech Language Pathologist
Duration: 03-06 Months and Possibility for extension
Location: Sharon, CT 06069
SHIFT: Monday - Friday days, 40 hour a week
Duties:
Speech-language pathologists (SLPs) evaluate, diagnose, and treat communication and swallowing disorders in people of all ages.
They work with patients who have speech articulation issues, voice quality problems, or language disorders. These disorders can be caused by injuries, illnesses, neurological events, chronic diseases, or trauma.
SLPs create individualized treatment plans to address their patients' specific needs, which may include:
Teaching patients how to make sounds, improve their voices, and maintain fluency
Helping patients improve vocabulary and sentence structure
Working with patients to develop and strengthen swallowing muscles
Counseling patients and their families on how to cope with communication and swallowing disorders
Modifying a patient's diet
Prescribing a speech-generating device
