The Shift Supervisor  will work out of our Brownwood, TX facility and report to the Operations Manager. Due to the scope and needs of manufacturing operations, this position is an onsite-based position and is not eligible for remote work. The key responsibilities and duties of this position include, but are not limited to: 

• Helps lead and build a manufacturing culture of excellence – first-time quality and safety
• Promote and enforce a safe working environment by implementing safety protocols, conducting safety training, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and guidelines
•  Responsible for shift audits as well as weekly and monthly audits to ensure safety compliance 
• Lead and motivate a team of production workers, providing guidance, reviewing timecards, reduce/eliminate overtime, training, and performance feedback to enhance productivity and maintain a positive work atmosphere. Work closely with other departments, such as safety, human resources, maintenance, quality assurance, and logistics, to ensure smooth coordination and effective communication to achieve production goals 
• Lead and motivate a team of production workers, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback to enhance productivity and maintain a positive work atmosphere 
• Responsible for training and development of associates to maximize potential of associates 
• Monitor inventory levels, ensure accurate record-keeping, and coordinate to ensure timely availability of raw materials and packaging supplies 
• Implement and enforce quality control standards, conduct regular inspections, and address any deviations or non-conformities. Ensure that operations Master Sanitation Schedules is executed. Ensure production meets and/or exceeds quality standards – following SOPs and good practices
• Ability to provide management and oversight to the operation – raw ingredients, batching, grinding, processing, and packaging. Work with shift leads and operators to ensure new employees are trained to company standards 
• Analyze and solve work and equipment problems alerting maintenance as required 
• Develop & improve processes, standard operating procedures, and training materials to meet specifications, ensure quality, and meet attainment to schedule 
• Drive 5S and continuous improvement initiatives, including managing the operations master sanitation schedule
• Ensure documentation is completed and maintained properly through the entire process according to HAACP requirements and company standards 
• Other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent 
• Able to work in extreme heat and cold 
• Ability to be an industrial athlete 
• Responsible for monitoring different departments as well as being able to assist during process upsets 
• Must be willing to submit a background check and pre-employment drug screening
• Must be eligible to work in the US 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Prior experience working on the floor of a production facility 
• Minimum 3 years of experience in Pet Food or Food Manufacturing 
• 3 to 5 years of experience in people management in a manufacturing setting 
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Ability to push, pull, carry, and lift 50 to 75 lbs 
• Ability to remain in a stationary position for up to 8 hours
• Ascend/descend a ladder or stairs daily
• Ability to operate a computer and other office technology 
• Occasionally position self to access low spaces 
• Ability to observe details at close range 
• Must be able to work in extreme hot and cold temperatures
• Must be able to work out of the office during regular business hours
• Must be able to relay accurate information via multiple communication vehicles including verbal and written mechanisms
