What To ExpectConsider before submitting an application:
This position is expected to start around August/September 2024 and continue through the entire Fall term (i.e. through December 2024) or into Spring 2025 if available. We ask for a minimum of 12 weeks, full-time and on-site, for most internships.
International Students: If your work authorization is through CPT, please consult your school on your ability to work 40 hours per week before applying. You must be able to work 40 hours per week on-site. Many students will be limited to part-time during the academic year.

About The TeamTesla's Software Platforms team provides the foundation on which the in-vehicle user experience is built. We build the software platform (kernel, bootchain, drivers, and lower level userspace platform services) for our innovative Infotainment hardware. This includes high resolution touch displays, high definition audio, bluetooth/wifi/cellular connectivity, USB, cameras, all connected to high performance multi-core processors and GPUs. Our software is based on Linux, GNU toolchain, buildroot, and other open source projects, delivering the security, capability, and performance demanded by our user experience. In this role, you will have the opportunity to make a large impact in the Tesla product roadmap and mission.
What You'll DoSpecify, design, and implement functionality and behaviors of embedded subsystemsUse existing available hardware in innovative ways to solve problemsIntegrate software components into a fully functional software systemWrite well structured, testable, efficient, and maintainable codeBuild and deploy software tools, processes and metrics
What You'll BringCurrently working towards a degree in engineering or a related field of study with a graduation date between 2024-2025Experience in C/C Strong Linux kernel fundamentalsFluent in software fundamentals including software design and maintainabilityExperience updating firmware and developing applications for an embedded Linux device is a plusExperience in embedded development in robotics, real-time controls, or system software is a plusExcellent problem solving, critical thinking, and communication skills

Expected Compensation
$36.06 - $50.48/hour benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
