Role SummaryIn this role, the camera validation and integration engineer will drive the validation and integration of best-in-class camera systems for deployment in Rivian vehicles. This is a high impact role as these camera systems serve all aspects of autonomy, driver assistance and driver convenience.
The camera validation and integration engineer would be a highly competent hardware engineer, as well as having solid working knowledge of optics, CMOS image sensor, image quality, image signal processor, and software programming.
Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with internal architecture, software and hardware teams to drive the specifications of ADAS cameras.
  • Define and perform lab and field tests to validate camera module quality against the specifications.
  • Develop and execute validation plans for system level testing for ADAS cameras.
  • Communicate test results to cross-functional teams for decision making.
Qualifications
  • Required:
    • MS/PhD in Electrical Engineering, Optics, Imaging Sciences, or related fields.
    • 10 years of working experience in relevant field.
    • Experience driving camera system definitions for automotive cameras.
    • Deep understanding of all aspects of camera technology including sensor, lens, optics, and image signal processor (ISP).
    • Experience developing image quality metrics and test protocols.
    • Experience in analyzing performance of complex hardware and software systems.
  • Desirable:
    • Experience working on both RGB and IR cameras.
    • Experience in developing camera modules for high volume productions.
    • Experience in programming in Python or C/C .
    • Ability to work under time pressure.
    • Enjoy working with people.
    • Be an innovative problem solver.
    • Have a fine eye for detail, yet the ability to ‘zoom out’ and see the big picture.
    • Be a strong and effective communicator.
    • Be able to work independently, under your own initiative.
Pay DisclosureSalary Range for California Based Candidates: $191,600.00 - $239,500.00 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).
Benefits Summary: Rivian provides robust medical/Rx, dental and vision insurance packages for full-time employees, their spouse or domestic partner, and children up to age 26. Coverage is effective on the first day of employment, and Rivian covers most of the premiums.
